Adsense performance report

When you link your AdSense and Analytics accounts, you can access two reports to help you analyze your AdSense performance in conjunction with other GA data about your site.

By default, the graph in the report displays the daily total AdSense revenue for your site. Use the graph to compare metrics. The table below lists 10 AdSense metrics. Click any metric to see the daily values. On the page for that metric, the line graph and bar chart display daily values. Use the Trending menu to display the page for a different metric. The AdSense Pages report provides data about which pages on your site contributed most to your AdSense revenue.

By default, the graph displays the daily total AdSense revenue for your site; the table displays total revenue metrics for the date range distributed by page.

With the AdSense Referrers report, you can find out which domains that sent traffic to your site contributed most to your AdSense revenue. The graph displays the daily total AdSense revenue for your site; the table displays total revenue metrics for the date range distributed by referring domain.

In the table, click a domain name to see revenue metrics per referring page. Above the table, click the different Viewing options to see statistics by source and medium. Each time AdSense displays an ad, every event associated with that ad is logged with a set of attributes: date, country, channel, ad unit, etc.

These attributes are called dimensions. When a report is requested, the logged events are added together according to the chosen dimensions. Metrics represent the different measurements you can make on that data.

The generated report consists of a series of rows, each having one or more fields. Adding a new metric to a report produces a new column but adding a dimension multiplies the number of rows. For example, a report with DATE as a dimension will generate a set of rows, one row for each day with activity. As a guideline it's fine to use as many metrics as you like, but try not to use more than two dimensions per report.

There are some metrics and dimensions that cannot be combined in a single report.

I really really really really wish they'd let us just create our own dashboards and default performance reports so that we could assemble the metrics that are important to US, and not what Google thinks should be important to us. We can more or less do this in Analytics with dashboards and shortcuts. Why not AdSense? Actually I have a suspicious why it's no secret they've been trying to de-emphasize things like the number of clicks, CTR and EPC for a while now so I am not holding my breath.

But I will not be converting to the new reports until I'm dragged in kicking and screaming. And I've told them this many times. I don't think they care. I do think that cpc and epc is becoming less and less important.You can now check personalized account information on the new " My AdSense page ". I do think that cpc and epc is becoming less and less important. The original report is not accurate in its sense of definition for newbies without digging further into how the whole thing works. Although I still think ctr is a still important metric since it can more or less determine the ad placement clues more than cpm.
